Feel the Fear & Do it Anyway

Fear is at the heart of most of our problems. It's fear that causes us to sabotage our best laid plans, to act out in relationships, to ignore our soul's promptings and even our body's messages, such as when we need to rest and recharge.

Our nervous systems weren't designed for the constant bombardment of bad news and traumatic imagery that arrives every day through various media. It keeps us on constant 'high-alert' which on one level creates adrenal stress and high cortisol levels that feeds viruses which are at the root of many health problems and on another fearful mind chatter makes it hard to hear the voice of our inner guidance.

Creating spaces each day where we feel safe and we can deeply relax is essential for our health, yet there's an epidemic of sleeplessness because our lifestyles are rarely designed with these pauses in mind.

Having a regular practice to calm your nervous system and discharge stress is key. It can be varied each day to keep it fresh but ideally contains elements where you're in touch with your body in a gentle nurturing way that grounds you and ones where you're reinforcing positive and inspiring thoughts. This might be journalling, affirmations that you put around the house. It may be a walk, qi gong, yoga, dancing or singing - and limiting your exposure to mainstream media.

Are you irritable? Do you grind your teeth? Do you have a strong inner critic and frequently criticise others - even if only silently to yourself? Are you driven and determined? Do you have a charismatic personality with a strong creative and/or sexual drive?

Healthy water should have certain qualities to have the most positive effects on our health. It should have an alkaline pH, it should have antioxidant properties and, critically important for absorption and cell health, it should have a good structure.
