Time to Move On
Mercury has finally gone direct, so life should start moving forward more smoothly. Hopefully that means we can use all that we've learned over the past three months to ensure that we take a truly fulfilling path.
With a new moon in Leo I'm taking a look at self-image. Where do we need to stop judging our flaws and accept ourselves as we are - a wonderful work in progress. When we no longer seek the approval of others, intriguing new doors can open.
We're here to have experiences to learn from - and we learn most outside our comfort zone. So, this month, challenge yourself to do something you've been putting off until you're perfect in some way. Perhaps you tell yourself you'll do it when you've got fitter or wealthier or more advanced or skilful or you've found someone to do it with you.
Whether it goes well or not, the sense of achievement and rush of newly-found confidence will be worth it, because you simply had the courage to try.

Who's at the helm of your boat, as you sail through life? If it's Captain Calm you can sit back and admire the view but if it's Captain Conflict, you've got a problem.
So much of life is about finding that important mid-point where we can respond quickly to the unexpected surges and waves of our emotions and still stay on course, adjusting our sails accordingly. We may take a new route but we're still heading in the right direction. However, if we drift along with no awareness of the undercurrents, we can end up on the rocks.
One sure way of losing awareness is to look outside yourself for guidance. It's the most common reason we lose our way. The voice of self-doubt may lead us to question our decision or ability or it may prompt us to follow the guidance of others so we obtain their approval - that way we can shore up our self worth or blame someone else, if it goes wrong. The fear of getting it wrong separates us from love. Once fear takes over it's very difficult to connect to the divine wisdom within us.
Guiding your life joyfully and successfully requires us to strike a balance between confident, decisive action and respect for our intuition. This means we need to have our masculine and feminine energies balanced.
 Most of us internalise our masculine and feminine traits from our parents, who received them in turn from theirs. It's therefore a very worthwhile exercise to examine what patterns were handed down to you.
For example, is your masculine energy bullying, healthy or submissive? Is it to be relied upon? Does it like taking risks? Does it have good boundaries? Is it respectful or dismissive of your feminine gifts?
Did you see feminine traits honoured and appreciated - or taken for granted? Did you see feminine energy supported or exploited?
Who made sacrifices? Who took pleasure in life? Who judged? How was the power shared - or was it all one-sided? Who inspired and encouraged you?
Consider the models and beliefs you've internalised. Notice how these energies co-operate or conflict within you. Sorting out this internal relationship can make all the difference as to whether you enjoy your life and stay on your soul path or not.

Change can be very uncomfortable on many levels. Parts of our personality may be happy to move forward - but the parts of us that are hard to see and accept, never mind embrace, can put up a real fight.
